Knitting help please

Postby clothsister » Tue Sep 09, 2014 7:05 pm

So a friend is desperate for lame knitted booties and I said I'd give it a go! But can anyone please tell me how I read the pattern? I've only ever done knitting from a step by step guide!

What does add 2 extra decrease rounds mean?

Knit two more of the rounds with the ktog decrease in them, following the pattern.

Which size are you knitting?

Not really @sim I still don't understand the knitting 2 more rounds of ktog. Does it mean instead of doing 12 more rows only do 10 and the other 2 are decrease rows or does is mean add 2 more rowS?

It's hard to see the text In the pic, but it looks like 6-12 is the second biggest option.
So you have CO 51, knitted 14 rows and then knitted the 6 decrease rows written out in the pattern.

From that point you would knit 2 more decrease rows which follow the decrease pattern and should be:
K16, k2tog, k3, k2tog, k16
And then
K15, k2tog,k3,k2tog, k15

Then you are knitting the cuff section -
For 6-12 month size you would knit 18 rows before binding off loosely.

@clothsister
Hope that helps - give me a shout if not :)
