Fleece soaker - what stitches??

Postby rachel » Mon Dec 28, 2009 5:54 pm

Just got a sewing machine today which has quite a few stitch options. To make a fleece soaker what stitch is the best to use? Also, if making washable wipes and wanting to stitch over the edge without having an overlock stitch, can you use a zigzag stitch? ( I know I read this on a previous thread and saw some fab close-up pics from ems but just wanted to cjheck that we were asking the same thing?) :giggle:

The pattern I've got says to use a stretch stitch if the machine does it. Mine doesn't have that so I just use the smallest straight stitch for anything like fleece or wool interlock
I use zigzag stitch on the edges of wipes, soakers and trousers as I don't have an overlockers and it seems to work ok, depends on the fabric a bit.
