.........making a pattern and altering a dress I got off ebay.

I used to work as a dressmaker but seriously fell out of love with it just before I stopped, and I haven't really made anything for me since (that was over 8 years ago). I've made curtains and I made a pattern and dress for a DIY fairy but that's it.\

Anyway I have a lush red halterneck dress that I bougth off ebay for £8, it doesn't zip up at the back as the size was described wrong but I kept it and I am in the process of altering it - it has a bodice that I can recut from fabric at the bottom of the (full length) skirt, it will end up midi length or on the knee.

I did take a before pic so will see if I get it done and show after!

That sounds very adventurous for a non sewer like me! Good luck, it all sounds fab. Definitely need the before and after photos though :wink:

Well pattern made and bodice cut out of the ten inches I cut off the bottom of the skirt. I also shortened the skirt from the waistband as it was too tight and am hoping that the extra I've added on the bodice will match what I took off the skirt so I can still use the original metal zip without having to unpick it :panic:
