Superhero Cape?

Postby yellow45 » Sun Oct 09, 2011 8:14 pm

Evening all

Toby's been invited to a halloween party and I'd like him to go as a superhero so am wanting to make him a cape. Does anyone know of any free and simple patterns I could follow or ideas on how to make one? He'll only be 1 at the time so I'm thinking it might be best to sew one to the back of a top rather than have one around his neck. What do you think?

Thanks

I made one by sewing a square of material and then running some big stitches through the top and pulling to make it gatherrd and then sewed it to the back of a top basic but it worked

I bought my DS a pair of superman PJ's from MC they have a Velcro patch on each shoulder and the cape is removable. It just saves having anything tied around their neck.

I made dd a cape ages ago by buying a suitably coloured shirt in a charity shop and cutting off the front and arms leaving the back (as the cape) and the collar (with a button to fasten). :-)

Sorry Mothercare. But obviously not. Probably from a similar supplier though.

Thanks for the suggestions, girls. I never though of velcro, think that might be best. What kind of fabric do you think would be best?
