Best material for playmat?

Postby Bugglyboo » Mon Jan 09, 2012 1:04 pm

I need to make Eddie an extra large playmat as we have no carpet and the floor is FREEZING. He feet and hands go purple and I dread to think how cold his tummy gets when he's on the move brr.

What material is best? and how would I go about making it? Would a quilt be better? Could a do a quilt with large squares? and maybe minki and jersey? Or would it be better to use a woven fabric rather than a knitted.

I'm rather bewildered but I need to get ordering so that my little man can get nice warm toes again.

Fleece, minki or cotton would probs be best, I need to get making one for bump as we have no carpet either, my mum suggested just getting a double quilt and a few covers as that would be nice and padded and warm x

Oooo the double duvet is such a good idea. I can't believe I didn't think of that.
It would be a lot cheaper to buy some duvet covers than it would be to buy a whole load of gorgeous fabric, although the fabric is somewhat tempting.
