Using lastin

My mum is replacing some elastic in my old little lambs.I have ordered some lastin for her to use but have read it can shred easily when sewing it and some people hate it.So how do u sew it and can anyone give tips I can pass on to my mum? Thanks.Am wondering if I should have just got normal elastic?

I never got on with lastin, it either stretched too much and snapped or didn't have enough elasticity when sewn. I got much better results with ordinary 1/4 inch elastic.

Darling Diapers have a handy guide on how to sew lastin. I can do it, but much prefer swimwear elastic. It's personal preference, I think.
