Help with a crochet project please?

Postby Pinchette » Mon Jan 16, 2012 9:53 am

[*]It's from issue 25 of inside crochet, called the flower shrug, and it uses the floral trellis stitch.
Here's a similar pattern: http://mylittlecitygirl.com/free_patter ... titch1.jpg

I've managed rows 1 and 2 but i'm getting stuck afterwards because my work gets all twisted and I don't understand which way to turn so that my flowers go the right way.

I found a youtube video which was useful up the point where the lady instructions were just " slip stitch Here" where's "here" lol

Any ideas?

Yes there were, I'll copy them. It's uk terms I believe.

Row 1: Ch7, sl st in 4th. *ch3, 2 tr into ring*, ch 3, sl st in ring, rep btwn * and *, [ch10, sl st in 4th, (ch 3, 2tr,ch3, sl st) into ring, (ch3, 2tr) into ring] 3 (3:4:4) times. (4 [4:5:5] half flowers

Row 2: *ch3, sl st in next ring, (ch 3, 2tr, ch3, sl st) into ring, place st marker ch3 sp just made, ch3, 2 tr into ring, miss 2 ch of "ch stem", sl st in next ch**, ch7, miss 3 ch, asl st in next tr; rep from * across, ending at ** on last rep.

asl st= angled slip stitch: insert hook through front loop of indicated stitch and first side loop of post.

until then I'm fine, it's row 3 that I can't get right at all:

Row 3:
ch10, sl st in 4th ch from hk, ch3, 2 tr into ring, *ch3, sl st to marked ch-3 sp**, ch3, ◊ ch7, sl st in 4th ch from hk, ch3, 2tr into ring, sl st in 4th, /(centre)/st of ch-7 sp from previous row, ch3, (sl st, ch3,2tr) in same ring ◊; rep from *across, ending at ** on last rep. Ch10, asl st in last dc of this row. remove markers.

I hope I copied it right. It's so frustrating, it's like I understand it but when put together it comes out wrong.
I'll add pics of my mess in a bit.
This is the youtube video that I tried to use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN25ZpMer6U

Here's the second attempt when I couldn't work out how to start row 3

and my latest attempt with a bit of row 3 with the half flowers all twisted:
