Postby aimeet » Sat Jan 02, 2010 8:09 pm

Hello, I am new to the sit but wanted to see if there are any other vegans out there. I am Aimee, my first baby is due in April and I am a vegan and have been for about seven years now.
Looking forward to meeting people x Aimee :D

I am a veggie and have been for about 18 years. My dh isn't though so the kids eat mean with him. I will let them make their own decision when they are old enough. Having said that though, at home we mostly eat veggie food.

 I'm veggie, and occasionally vegan. I turned veggie 19 years ago, and my DH and DD are also veggie.

Hi Aimee, nice to meet you. I've been vegetarian for about 18 years. Dh and the boys aren't though, so I cook meals where I can easily make a veggie option. Lunch for me and the boys is always vegetarian, as is a couple of dinners for everyone each week.

Hi Im Sara, I became veggie at age 5  when i realised what meat was :( then had a rebeliious streak which spanned a decade :giggle: I am now veggie again. I cannot call myself vegan because I eat fish and eggs. Don't ask me why I just do. Im really fussy though I can whereever poss eat organic and responsibly sourced fish,, I will only eat true free range eggs I have to have a full explanation on the box like "these hens are free to roam from dusk til dawn and are fed a diet of ....." that kind of thing

:hohoho: I sound like a right weirdo! I dont eat dairy. Two reasons, one is I dont feel like milk is supposed to be drunk by humans just doesnt sit right with me :-? The other is the idea of how the milk is acquired :-? I am quite strict with the occasional lapse when it comes to cheese

Izzy is veggie and I Have problem of he idea of bubs having dairy too as its supposed to be for nourishing cows not ickle baba's I hope I can :bf: her until 2. I am quite sick of getting funny looks from people as if I am depriving her somehow  When she is old enough to decide to eat what she wants I will let her If her dad makes it.

Ok sorry that was a right ramble!

Welcome to the tree :cnthug:

Slightly off-topic, had to share a definition from a Veggie board I was browing yesterday:

Veggie means you don't eat anything that poops
Vegan means you don't eat anything made by anything that poops

I like that  , and will probably use it, as I really don't get the whole 'I'm vegetarian but eat fish' thing.
