Toilet Cleaner and Shower Spray?

Postby mythreelittlemice » Mon Jan 21, 2008 10:04 am

I am trying to replace chemical cleaners with natural ones in our house at the moment, much to my husband's dismay :?

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for shower spray (the daily kind that stops limescale build up) and toilet cleaner? I tried soda crystals and vinegar in the toilet but it didn't seem to do anything.

I really like Earth freindly Orange mate as a regular cleaner, and the parsley smelling one that I can't remember the name of on shiny surfaces is the best one I have come across so its good if you have shower screens in a limescaley area. Orange mate do do a toilet cleaner too, its ok, much better than ecover, not yet found one that bests revolting chemicals I'm afraid.

Limescale on porcelaine is part of our problem, espeically in the toilet and I've not found anything for that yet except regular very hard scrubbing and nasty chemicals occasionally, I too would like any tips on that.

citric acid is the best for getting stuff off porcelain and vinegar in a spray bottle good for getting wee stains off the seat and lid...

shower spray, no idea, lol. generally we're a bit mingy here, but we're in a soft-water area so we don't have limescale to contend with.

I'd say vinegar would be great for a shower spray as the acidity will get rid of the limescale well. We tend to use vinegar for most things here, although I do use bleach in the loo - not found anything else that does the job yet :(
