I have thought about that Frances, but tbh I know I wouldn't bother snapping it all together again after washing. We have several different piles of wipes, hankies, flannels, smaller wipes in the bathroom, face cloths that we keep on the table for after meal times, cleaning cloths. All different so we know what gets used where. A roll of kitchen paper lasts us months as I only really use it on the rare occasion we eat anything fried, placed under the food on a plate iyswim. Can't think what else we use it for.

Wow! What do you both use it for  We never used that much kitchen roll before. You'd save a fortune

I use it to wipe Jamsines face and hands after meals, to pick bits out of the sink plughole after washing the dishes, for cleaning crumbs off sides, all kinds of cleaning and mop-up jobs which I could really use washable cloths for...

I've got a cloth bag of cheap face cloths on the back of one of our dining chairs for wiping hands and faces. They're varying shades of grey as they just get chucked in the washing machine after each meal and washed with whatever wash goes on next. But they're clean grey  And I'm afraid it's my fingers that clean out the plug. Yuk!

What I do use kitchen roll for is a couple of sheets of it lining the bottom of the box of scraps for the compost. It soaks up the liquid and I just tip it into the compost bin along with the scraps. It stops bits sticking to the bottom too so it's easier and much less unpleasant to clean. I can't think what else it gets used for regularly, I'd say a roll lasts us about a month or so.

We have a plate on the table with a wipe for each of the boys, wet in the morning, changed daily. We have a bucket in the kitchen for wipes and the like that gets emptied into the wash.

Amanda, do you get a newspaper at all? Just thinking you could line your compost bin with that instead, or scrap paper, used envelopes, etc.

Probably not very crunchy...

Have just started cloth nappying
Breastfed Jaden til just after 1st birthday
Jaden uses a Born Free bottle
Only use organic/natural skincare products on Jaden (can't really afford them for myself but ask for them for gifts!)
Did use a sling but now use buggy all the time
Recycle everything the council will take!
Re-use bags
Buy recycled kitchen roll - aim to give up kitchen roll addiction or minimise it soon!
Pass on old clothes to charity
Use a mix of natural and conventional cleaning products
Plan to buy a mooncup next pay day :D
Am getting into wool and WAHM clothes where finances allow
Walk or get the bus everywhere (don't have a car so no choice really!!)
Try to get fairtrade products when possible
Boycotting palm oil unless it's from sustainable sources (have only found Sainsburys basics fish fingers made with sustainable palm oil so far!!)
Plan to grow some lettuce on my balcony this summer - does anyone have any advice about growing veg on a small city balcony?!

I don't believe in homeopathy at all though but I don't think that make me completely un-crunchy

Tumbling tomatoes work really well in pots!!

Wow, no homeopathy, tut tut!! :giggle: Have you actually tried it? I mean, been to a homeopath and used it properly, not just chamomilla from Boots? It works, believe me. As does herbal medicine.
