Composting Question

Just got a composting bin and I'm wondering if you put fruit stones in it? I have a mango stone and I don't know what to do with it

Just asked OH(he's studying horticulture atm) and he says it wont' compost so you can if you want but it may start to grow (probably not the mango but just for future reference )
