Toddler toys - recommendations and advice

Postby JennyWren » Sat Feb 23, 2008 10:38 pm

Hi all, with Livia's 2nd birthday coming up soon I am starting to think about pressies and will no doubt be asked soon by inlaws what she would like. It seems to me that it would be nicer to have beautiful looking wooden toys around, rather than the standard plastic tat. Does anyone know firstly of any good sources of information regarding toys/toxicity etc. so that I can reel off convincing arguments to pursuade the inlaws into actually buying these. Alternatively, if you have any knowledge/experience yourself that you could share that would be appreciated. Secondly, can anyone recommend good websites for buying said lovely toys. Finally, anyone have any suggestions for toys that you have bought for your children at this age that have been well appreciated and played with?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure of info but I buy some toys (usually the pocket money toys as stocking fillers) from http://www.myriadonline.co.uk although places like http://www.greatlittletrading.co.uk and http://www.letterbox.co.uk often have some nicer toys too.

Worth asking on The Green Parent forums, plenty of people hot on that kind of thing over there :)
