Rather than order a box I ordered specific items instead (to avoid wastage/hubby moaning) and here is what came~

Punet of vine cherry tomatoes
6 leeks
5 baking potatoes
15 white potatoes
6 large carrots
5 onions
13 mushrooms
1 large cucumber
10 huge bananas
10 huge pears
10 huge apples

The whole lot cost £17.50 and delivery was free! On first glance its SO SO SO much better than the last one we tried!! and it was the same ££ as what i spend on fruit/veg per week (non organic) at the supermarket!

Mine arried on Friday really trying to be upbeat about it but can't

It arrived at 5pm when I was getting back from being out. The guy was on our drive as we pulled into the close. So the box had only been in the shed a matter of minutes and it hadn't been raining then but some of the contents of the box were sogging wet tried to dry them off but as we were going away to the in laws left them drying on the side and when we got back today a couple of the potatoes have gone really soft and yucky where the wet got to them and the bananas were really bruised when they arrived. Seems as though they were squashed by other boxes in the van all day.

The quantities bother me slightly, the portion of grapes and clementines we ordered separately were fine but we only got 4 apples though they are enormous and 3 large pears. Also thought we were getting some oranges in the box but no sign of those and no substitute either I don't think though will check with them on Monday.

Might give it another go or might order separates. Would like them to explain though why it was so wet though as we arrived as the guy was still there.

I think Able and Cole and Riverford also operate in the area so might end up going with them if we can't get this one to work.

Looks good. Would also be concerned bout all the bags - seem sunnecessary.
I tried making up my own box this wk, but didnt seem to work for some reason.

Annette - can I ask how much u spend at A&C each wk and what a typical wk' box would be for u?

The Kale must have been washed and that is what caused the potatoes, beans and carrots to get soaked. Can't believe they haven't dried yet even after trying to dry them with kitchen roll several times.

The bananas are so bruised they are mainly brown inside.
