Silly Q, but do you have to try and get all the oats out to reuse the tights or can you reuse it? Or would it stay wet and go mouldy? I dont want to throw the tights away each time - would soon run out!

We use a muslin instead of tights. We throw the oats in the bin after bathtime, rinse the muslin and hang to dry to reuse next time ;-)

Thanks, we've got loads of old muslins, we will give it a go.

I think dd is reacting to the oilatum in the bath. I've had my doubts for a while, she nearly always scratches as soon as she is in the bath and she never used to with just babybath (cheapo tesco or asda stuff). I only used it because the doctor and others said it would be much better. Last night she had a bath, not had one in about a week  and she was scratching immediately. Her ezcema has been a lot better the last few weeks and it was quite red after the bath and she woke up scratching in the night for the first time in weeks.

Apart from the oats, anyone recommend any alternatives to ask the doctor for. Balneum (sp?) rings a bell, I think dd1 had that when she had very mild ezcema. Anything else?

If you push for it up here you can get aveeno prescribed or you can just buy it, a friends SD had bad exzema and aveeno keeps it away, it is oat based
