Good point! Will invest in some special loo cloths once home!
Does anyone use washable cloths for adult loo trips? Sorry bit TMI, just interested!

I do. I don't think anyone else in the house does, but then I figure I'm probably using the most as the only female. I've not really spoken to the boys about it as our main loo has a macerator and if wipes got dropped down by mistake it would create quite immediate and urgent problems on flushing

We all used cloth for toileting and have done for 4 years now and won't be going back to paper. I hate going out/away and having to use paper now. It just doesn't feel as clean as cloth :D. DH took some persuading but is now firmly hooked :). We mainly use old/worn out/stained clothes not suitable for donating/selling cut up into hand sized pieces, no sewing, just roughly cut with a circular cutter. We don't bother with fancy solutions, just run 'em under a tap if necessary (sink is right next to the loo so v handy for that!). Used cloths get put into a small lidded bin kept by the loo and that gets upended into the machine for washing when it's full.

Our toilet gets cleaned mainly with a brush, but we also tend to just grab one of the family toilet cloths to give it a quick wipe as well.

Pretty much the same set up here, except I use the old wipes we had when the boys were in nappies.

I wash/rinse with water. Only since meeting DH, he is African and they all wash with water after visiting the loo where he comes from. When I've been over to visit his family then everyone has water filled buckets and small cups by the toilets ready for cleaning yourself. You do feel much cleaner than just using paper to wipe, everyone over there that I've spoken too thinks that we're pretty unhygienic for just using tissue. When its 30+ degrees you do need to wash often and change knickers otherwise you start to get a bit whiffy by the end of the day :giggle:

I only buy kitchen roll occasionally, for blotting grease off food if necessary, although DH does like to use loads of it for wiping stuff up. Mostly I use old tea-towels and sheets, rip them up so DH (should) know what the "rag" cloths are. I use old sponges and cloths for the toilet too, they just get washed as well. We use cloth napkins instead of paper ones, but if we have guests eating with us they often don't want to use them "in case [they] ruin them", I don't put them on the table just for show lol!

I really need to make some more wipes so we can use "family cloth" a bit more.

Our local poundland sells packs of disposable cloths for every cleaning occasion imaginable - toilet wipes, bathroom wipes, floor wipes, dusters, glass cloths etc etc.... unnecessary waste!

well .. I have made up a hundred adult *loo* cloths, and a bag for the clean ones to go in next to the toilet. I got a cheap mini bathroom bin for them to go into which I made a net bag for.. so it can be zipped up and chucked straight into the washing machine :) Our basin is right next to our loo anyway. We did have a shower thing on the toilet at one stage.. but the animals played with it, so we took it away and use the bidet now instead LOL

Not sure if the man is going to use the cloth.. I don't really care if he doesn't. At least one of us is :)

DH was hesitant in the beginning, but loves it now and wouldn't be without it. He travels quite a bit and is always happy when he's at home and able to wipe his behind properly with family cloth :giggle:
