What ingredients to avoid?

I always try to but what I think is good for me and my family in terms of what goes into the products I buy but I actually know very little about most of them.

Basically I choose products that are paraben free, triclosan free & SLS free. Are there any other major one's that I could avoid? I'm not looking for the most 'friendly' product but just one's that are free of the major nasties.

I recently looked at some Sainsburys own brand and Superdrug own brand which are paraben free but still contain SLS which is irritating because they are cheaper!

Not everything by any means!!
I try to go for products with ingredients that I understand. If I don't know what they are then I put the bottle down. Not saying I'm perfect, I'm sure there are things in our cupboards that aren't great!
I use this site too - type in an ingredient and it gives you a low-down!
