How to break in my Girasol?

Postby clothmama » Thu Oct 02, 2014 12:05 am

:yahoo: :yahoo: Am so excited that I'm getting a Girasol :bw: :bw:

I'll have it from my baby shower on the 9th of November so probably about 2-3 weeks before baby arrives. What do I need to do to break it in? How 'broken' in does it need to be and how will I know when it is right?

I'm new to all this 'tis very exciting :giggle: :bw: :yahoo:

Wash it ,iron it, braid it, thread it through your stair banisters, thread through sling rings, sleep on it ,use as hammock :) you'll break it in the most when wearing but you'll know when it feels soft and lovely with mouldability and stretch and the knot you make gets smaller and easier to manage making wrapping a dream xx

:) A quick blast in the tumble drier can work wonders. Never do this will with wool and silk but with cotton it'll be just fine x

This.
Make a hammock under the dining table and get Louis into it!

He'd love that! We actually have a proper hammock stand outside on the verandah, I could just hook it up to that  :bw:

My thoughts were to get Joel to try carrying the boys in it, or to get them to play 'mummies' and wrap each other up. A bit of rough and tumble with it will do no harm!

Get the boys to play with it
Sling hammocks
Sleep with it under the sheets
Keep braiding/unbraiding it
Low heat tumble it (only if 100% cotton)
Run it through the banisters.....

Basically..... Abuse it!!! :giggle:
