Car seat after the cabriofix / capsule - what do you have?

Postby clothmama » Sun Dec 27, 2015 5:56 pm

I've realised he is already pushing 11kg so not long left in the baby capsule. I've noticed there are lots of 1/2 price seat sales on so thought I'd maybe look at getting one in the sales.

Can I ask what you all have? Do you like it? Would you buy the same again? If not what would you get? I haven't got a huge budget for a fancy smancy one!

My twins are two and in Britax eclipse seats. They were only around £65 from halfords. They forward face though and I know some people are against forward facing car seats but rear facing seats are so expensive and I don't think I would like not being able to keep an eye on them and they would get bored with no view. They recline well although are a pain in the backside to change the strap heights (not that you have to do it often). They are one of the slimmer seats which is handy as I have two of these and a maxi cosi pebble all across the middle row of the car. They seem to be one of the best reviewed cheaper seats that I could find. We have had ours around 20 months with no problems and my oldest who is now 9 was in a similar Britax seat which i never had any issues with either :)

This one looks promising? Rear facing up to 18kg if you want and isofix.

We have the hauck varioguard. Isofix and he's still comfortably rear facing At 2 yrs 5months. It was £180 from tesco a year ago. Expensive but not as dear as some of them.

We always had maxi cosi, but have nothing useful to add. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the choices to be honest!

We have a joie - I- anchor, it's extended rear facing, with the new safety standard. (R129 or I- size) it was on offer when I got it with a free base. It was £166.
