Strangly I was reading up on sling safety a few month ago as I wanted to start making them myself. From what I read all the safety concerns were in regards to prem and very small babies being held incorrectly in slings.

But there is *lots* of info out there about the safety of slings in general that might help you?

I just wanted to add that like most baby equipment, all slings are potentially unsafe if used incorrectly. Whichever sling you choose, it is very important, for example, to ensure that your baby is not in the chin-to-chest position as this can obstruct their airway. You can find more on sling safely here: http://www.babyslingsafe.com/

Personally, I wouldn't use one and we stopped selling them ages ago. If you want a quick on and off, you could look at huggababy as you can get the baby into several positions that keep the air paths open and the baby is higher up too.

I breastfed in a huggababy - found it useful when we were out and about.

Thanks everyone - I think i'll give the baba sling a miss and have a look at the others that have been mentioned. I'm sure I'll be back with loads of questions. I'm going to have a look for a sling meet locally too.

Yes it is bought the baba sling cozy for my little Seren and she loves it. She prefers to be in the sling than the pram. It does take a few tries to get used to it but do this with a cuddly toy first like any baby product that you are trying for the first time.
