And, I'm sorry for all the questions... Size-wise, I'm guessing you just measure the baby and get shorties etc in the most appropriate size. How often do you find you need to move up a size? Just wondering how much the might cost me overall.

Wool lasts ages, I have found mine outgrown them on the length but not the width. C

@littlesez made me a lovely pair of longies nearly a year ago now. She made them with a turn up so there was growing room and my LO still wears them now, fine in the width but a bit ankle shy in the length

I don't want to hijack the thread, but how inferior is polyester fleece? Allergies mean that wool and lanolin are unsuitable for us.

You can use fleece ! It's not as good but it's an option

Thanks for all the help, I've got a wool soaker on a trial that we've been using for about a fortnight... It's amazing! Definitely a convert.
