Hand Dyed Wool in Yorkshire

Postby Nimyue » Sun Oct 16, 2011 9:46 am

Is there anyone in Yorkshire who hand dyes wool? Or even uses Yorkshire wool? We're heading back to the states, and I want a woolly memento of our stay here in hand dyed perfection!

The Sheep Shop near Leyburn and Richmond. They sell Wensleydale wool and have some hand dyed and hand spun wools plus felt tops and lots of lovely fluffy bits.

I have some Wensleydale longwool in stock, and could knit you up something PDQ if you like. Only got pink or blue though.

Wharfedale Woolworks on Etsy - she has quite a lot in stock, all weights, or our LWS BaaRamEwe (on the internet) stocks lots of British yarns and I'm sure if you rang them they would be able to suggest something
