Which pattern for a novice?

Aaaargghh....going round in circles looking at patterns. What would be easiest to follow for a novice - joeli's, doodle pants, or sheepypants???

I haven't tried all of them but i started of with Joelis you can get loads of help on here too as loads of us have done the pattern x

For my first longies I did the Little Turtle Knits 'Picky Pants' pattern and I found it very straight forward.

My first pair was Joeli's which was easy, I read through the whole post which helped too, I now use Evie Pants as there are so many options to choose from.

I started with joeli's pattern!
I've made 2 sets of longies from them now. It's such an easy pattern to follow!

So where are these patterns? Can I just google, or is there a link / thread somewhere obvious that I'm missing?

I know what I'm doing with a pair (or even a set) of needles, but I'm feeling the need for a short-list of reviewed patterns here (ideally in UKish knit-speak).

ETA: Ah, OK. The first one is in the pinned thread at the top of this forum.

Ummmmm, would it be possible to have a short list of different things one might want to knit with (say) two or three straightforward patterns for each of them?
