I've decided to go for this one, its from the same lady who designed the FASC, I'm prefering the crescent ones to the triangular, if you look at the third and fourth pattern pick, I've seen a few ladies wearing shawls like this and it looks nice worn that way.

a lot of projects have used a contrast but it also looks really nice in just variegated or solid yarn too.

I don't use special stitch markers, I just make mini slip knots out of waste yarn

That's lovely, Bekhi. I like the wrap-around look as well. Carina Spencer's patterns are great, but I have to look at a pattern first to see if I can do it before I commit, so ones you have to pay for are too big a risk!

I'm going to try and do mine without using stitch markers. I hate the things and I'm never sure I'm using them right, especially with yo's. I had a look at Shaunie's post from a while ago, and I saw Ruth say she doesn't use markers, so will try without and see how it goes.

I'm using a skein of Wollmeise which DH bought for me last christmas, some BLL boo sock and Posh Yarn

Regarding stitch markers, i dont tend to use them once the pattern i am doing is established, that counts for practically all projects, you do get to know when a yarn over is due, but for the shawl you are doing ,i personally would use them until the 3 rows of yarn overs are established .
You do have to be careful, the yo can slip under the sm and then you get in a real muddle .

I've done the first few increases without the sm, and it seems to be going ok so far. I've also found a crappy plastic circular the right size, so I've done more than I thought I could.

Those colours look lovely, look forward to seeing it knitted up.

It's 6mm. I don't think I like circulars, the cord keeps twisting and the stitches catch on the join!

Do you have any wooden ones? I didn't realise how much I'd got used to my symfonies! So I've ordered a 100cm 6mm set of cymfonie circulars, which I hope should get here Monday or Tuesday, but if you have ones with wooden tips that would be brilliant, as I should have time to knit at the in-laws tomorrow.
