How best to weave these ends in?

I made this scarf for a friend...




It was knitted on circulars and is quite lacy (knitted in garter stitch on 10mm needles) how do I weave the ends in so they don't come back out or look messy??

I have another of these to knit for MIL so if there is a way to avoid ends tell me now for next time

It's loads of pictures and stuff.

Perhaps when one of us gets a chance, we could do a photo-tutorial of how we do it and add it to the stickies at the top of the board so they are accessible to all our members

This shows a few differet ways of weaving http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall04/FEATfall04TT.html but because your scarf is so lacy I would proably weave your darning needle through the stitches along the short length of the scarf - as the yarn isn't going to felt to stop it unravelling, I would add a tidy knot a stitch from the end and leave a little tail but that would be down to preference

Okey doke, i will attempt to weave in the short end and pop a knot in for this scarf...for the next I'll look on ravelry at the 'weave as you go method', thank you
