Drop stitch scarf

Postby fivefourfour » Sat Aug 04, 2012 8:32 pm

Peeps that have done this - @tanya @lucylou0417 I know you both have.

Did anyone take measurements before and after blocking? I'm doing one for the Mouse and a few inches could make a difference between too big/perfect/too small.

TIA.

From memory mine blocked quite a bit bigger. If you aren't sure you could leave the stitches on scrap yarn and block, then either knit more or just cast off it is big enough?

This will be the first project I block! I have this and my shawl to do, once I pluck up the courage!

Good plan Ali, I'd not thought of that.

Do I need any special tools for blocking? I've found a good blog post about it, which says you need a blocking board and t-pins, but most of the pictures seem to show normal pins and towels or the foam alphabet floor mat things!

I have only ever used ordinary pins and foam blocks laid out to the shape I need. If I am being extra good, I put a towel down over the foam
I've not encountered any problems so far....!
