Pattern help please

I am going out of my mind with this pattern so I am giving in & asking for help. The pattern knits up nice & easy until you get to the neck decreases (I am on the right side neck decreases). I was working the neck decreases as stated on the pattern & the smock pattern was going wrong so have ripped back & re-done several times. Today I noted the errata on the pattern details page which says to do decreases on the wrong side to keep the smock pattern. How would you decrease 5 stitches on the of a wrong side row??

Not sure about the pattern but I would purl 2 together (if the wrong side is purl).

@Scotia The wrong side row is a knit one purl one. would purl 2 together work for 5 stitches? Thanks hun

What is the right side?

It's a smocked pattern so it's purl, slip one, knit into front & back, knit one, pass slip stitch over repeat

Hmm, my mind has gone blank. Do you decrease on more than one row? If it's only on the last row after finishing the pattern I would just stick with purl 2 tog.
I really don't know the pattern though, so if that doesn't sound right you might be best asking someone who has knitted that one.

Thanks Eleanor. I really appreciate you trying to help. I ended up asking on rav & now feel like a dunce because I took the adjustment to the pattern up completely wrong. My defense is that I only have time to knit in the evenings when I am wrecked. Have knitted it up & it worked out perfectly for me. Sometimes the simplest answer needs to be pointed out to you.
