I am going out of my mind with this pattern so I am giving in & asking for help. The pattern knits up nice & easy until you get to the neck decreases (I am on the right side neck decreases). I was working the neck decreases as stated on the pattern & the smock pattern was going wrong so have ripped back & re-done several times. Today I noted the errata on the pattern details page which says to do decreases on the wrong side to keep the smock pattern. How would you decrease 5 stitches on the of a wrong side row??
Hmm, my mind has gone blank. Do you decrease on more than one row? If it's only on the last row after finishing the pattern I would just stick with purl 2 tog. I really don't know the pattern though, so if that doesn't sound right you might be best asking someone who has knitted that one.
Thanks Eleanor. I really appreciate you trying to help. I ended up asking on rav & now feel like a dunce because I took the adjustment to the pattern up completely wrong. My defense is that I only have time to knit in the evenings when I am wrecked. Have knitted it up & it worked out perfectly for me. Sometimes the simplest answer needs to be pointed out to you.
