Wwyd- ran out of yarn!

Postby ponygirl » Mon Sep 24, 2012 8:00 am

Am halfway though a drop stitch scarf and have run out of yarn. Its a hand dyed lls club colourway and i know beths not available for customs atm.

The scarf is way to short to leave as it is, my only idea is to add a contrasting colour to each end. The colour I'm knitting with is shades of purple, what would go well with this?

Any other ideas?

How long is it at the moment? I just finished knitting one and used the 100g of yarn recommended and did find it looks quite short, but I have been told they gain a lot of length when they are blocked due to the nature of the way the scarf is knitted :D

oh this too, I did a waves scarf or maybe it was drop stitch and it easily doubled in length. it ended up being too long.

Mine looks really short. I also did 36 stitches across cos it looked too narrow. Have used 100 grams. Not sure now whether to wash and block it abd hope it stretches or add more on

LLS clubs are all one of a kind colourways, so no-one else will have it.

You can either put it to one side until Beth is available to dye it again or try blocking. Mine grew a lot.

Trim-wise, I tend to use a contrasting colour, rather than match as it's hard to get the right shade unless it's specifically dyed as a trim. Why not post a photo and we can see if we can help with trims?

not sure how to get pictures on here?? will try later on

I think I could add maybe a navy or a yellow trim. Just feel a bit disheartened as thought 100g would be enough :-?

What weight is the yarn? Personally I'd frog it and knit something else I think. You could do a mistake rib neckwarmer maybe?
