Quick gauge question

Postby Mareth » Mon Oct 15, 2012 9:11 am

I'm just about to cast on a pair of 'Longies for Leo', and having checked my gauge, I'm at 9.5 stitches per 2". Am I better to go with the 9 stitches per 2" version, or 10 stitches per 2"?

If you do the 9 sts version they will come out a bit smaller than stated, if you do the 10sts version they will come out a bit bigger, so it depends on which you'd prefer.

You could try getting a different gauge with a bigger or smaller needle.

I would usually go bigger, so that it can be grown into. Depends on the size you're making and if you make big babies I guess!

I would go smaller and size up, gives you the growing room and the more spi gauge makes a tighter fabric, which I prefer for longies
