Wool / online stockist recommendations

Postby cuppachaplz » Mon Apr 27, 2015 9:23 am

i need to crochet Percy a couple of larger soakers.
I usually buy wool from a stall in our local market, but she is away for a month helping her daughter with her new baby.
Can I have recommendations for online stockists and yarns please?
I normally chat, feel, so have no idea what I'm actually looking for in descriptions.
Google and ebsy searches seem to throw in loads of acrylics, when obviously I need wool...
Thanks in advance, wise ones :D

Just getting in to wool, not knitting my own (although I do aim to knit at least a soaker before Willow potty trains.)

Someone will know on here.

Thanks @littlez, links would be great.
Searches yield mostly acrylic yarns so was wondering where everyone gets their wool.
Not sure how long my local wool stall in the market will be shut...

I use deramores. For me the postage is really cheap (international post  ). The service is good and everything arrives quickly. Hope that helps

Black sheep wool is where I usually get my commercial yarns.

But for 100% wool for soakers etc I don't think you can beat pixie knits or felt fusion (about £10 for 100g of hand dyed yarn with STUNNINGLY colour ways!!)

Sara is being very modest as she also creates beautiful yarn.
