You know with the short row bit, in the tutorial it goes on about knitting to the marker, turning and slipping a stitch purlwise..... are we supposed to do that, or just purl back in a 'normal' way?

TIA

If you do the short row as in the tutorial then yes after you turn you slip the first stitch purlwise and then the other stitches you purl normally.

One of my goals when I get this pattern up into a PDF (aim to have it done by the end of this month) is to really clear up the short row section.

I just used the 'yarn over' way of wrapping short rows, it's sooooo simple even I could do it and my short rows looked much better than they normally do. It's in the short row tutorial sticky.

I have now finished one leg of Archie's Forest Flowers longies, really chuffed with myserlf as I only started last thursday and only really do an hour or so each night, and none at the weekends as my DH is home then (he works away).

My mum (bless her) is making me some longies and wanted to know; do you need both these size needles or is it just one or the other?

Really you need both, the smaller ones to knit the wasitband so it's a bit tighter and a better fit, and then switch to the bigger ones when you have finished the ribbing to do the main body and legs.

Yay to mum's kntting! :wine:

I've started my second pair, got the wasitband done and have some interchangeable circs on the way so will wait until they get here to start the body. Hopefully now I've had a bit practice I won't make so many mistakes  :giggle:

I've just joined this site and I'm so excited to find this pattern! Thanks very much for posting it, Joeli, I can't wait to get started with it.

I'm psyching myself up to have a go at this but am slightly concerned it may be beyond me as I've only just learned to knit!! Should I make a blanket or something first?!
