Fab timing for the narrower crotch..im just coming to that bit! :wine:

How many stitches have you cast-on? I'm simplifying the pattern so might have eliminated your size option, but will give you special instructions if you need them.

I casted on 88 so i think im alright :) Just in time hun too! Thank you!

ETA...I casted on 88 to get a hip of 22" based on the old pattern? do i just carry on? or do i need to change it?

Just carry on with the new gusset.

Me too! I haven't looked at the pattern yet but i cast on 80 stitches (9 stitches tension and 18 inch hips) is that version there?

Yup!

Just to check, would I be following 4.5 stitches per inch then for 18 inch hips? Also it says 4.5" per inch but I assumed this was stitches per inch rather than inches per inch?

Ha ha, yes it should be 4.5sts per inch (so 9 sts per 2"). Sorry, I really rushed this out without looking it over because I only had an hour to do while DH took Leo for a walk. I'll go through it now that he's in bed for the night.

About the size, maybe it's not as clear as I thought. Just follow the instructions for the number you cast on. So 80 sts means you're making the second smallest size.

for the shorts i just made i tried a different gusset which so far seems quite alright, it was only a make one stitch at the front and back for quite alot of rows, well not that many, looks like stacked 'v's and gives almost a diamond shape to the crotch. got bored and thought i'd try it and am amazed it actually worked! :wine:

Thought it probably was :giggle:

I ususally cast on 92 stitches for the ones I make Archie, but they really are huge so thought I'd go down a size this time and see how that works out.

Me again

have just done the new narrower guesset increases and am about to do the last knit round (as part of the repeat 3 times bit) but having counted I have 8st between a-b, 46st between a-d, 44st between b-c and 8st between c-d. Im guessing I should have equal number between a-d and b-c :-?

I cast on 88 st's should I have 46st between each or 44st between each? if its 44 then do i just k2tog somewhere between a-d? if so where abouts should I do it? If i should have 46st then please help me  :giggle:

you should have 44 between each, but personally I would leave it until after you graft the 8 sts and do a k2tog right when you start the leg.
