Eldest daughter (11)has just cast on her first longies too!!! :D :D

I'm loving this. Finding it a bit hard sometimes as I know nothing about knitting and am totally dreading crotch and legs. But I can see my short rows making the back. Well chuffed so far :D

one more question, "whatever method you prefer" could that be just
knitting 2 togetherdo i knit in the YO or leave the Yo as it is?

If you are doing the yarn over method, I think you need to yarn over before you turn, then slip the next stitch purlwise, then carry on back to the start marker, then you do the same again when you reach the start, then when you turn again you are just knitting a normal round again as your short row has finished/

make 1 is just an increase, bit hard to describe but really easy to do.

slip marker means onto next needle.

If it looks okay and you have increased one stitch then it's fine! There are many ways to do a m1. Will be coming tomorrow if you need any help.
