shoogaht that is beautiful wow!

i have finished the blue longies and the green ones now. rather liked swapping backwards and forwards between them as stopped me getting bored.

i have more wool drying in the bathroom and the trim is in the microwave right now, also LLS wool on its way to me, and i have 200g of green wool i dont know what i am doing with yet :giggle:

i might try my hand at a soaker, can you guys tell me the difference between that and longies? i cant follow patterns i just get lost, and freak if i make a mistake.

A soaker is just like a wool nappy cover, or wool pants, rather than longies having legs. I would just knit the ribbed waist band as usual, then go through the short rows and then put some stitches on a holder for the legs, and continue knitting, but back and forth rather than in the round and then graft that up to where you left the front iyswim. And then pick up and add stitches for the leg holes and do a little ribbing/trim there perhaps. I've knitted soakers from the Woollybottoms base pattern and also the curlywurly pattern.

The whole point of having my pattern up here is to help people learn. If there is ANY bit you are stuck with or unsure about then please just ask me! If you don't want to use dpns, you can easily use circular needles.

Thats fab - Can I ask how long the skirt is - from the top of the waist to the edge please.

I am trying to work out if my measurements are OK on a skirt I've asked for :-? Worried mine are too short :-?

Hi, mine is 10" from the top of waist band to bottom edge of skirt and the rise of the soaker is 20" hope that helps you decide what length you need :D
