Blocking fixes a shape, so you can even out any lumpy bumpy bits, stretch things out a little, it sort of revives the yarn after you've been working it too. I think it's worth doing. There are lots of different ways of doing it, but I soak for 15mins or so and then gently spin and lay flat on a towel until dry, maybe moving it around every now and then. I tried steam blocking a couple of days ago (hover a steam iron over the dry item), but didn't really get the result I get when soaking.

Catching up on here - love the lettuce edge on your longies Stacey :wine:

And the shawl is gorgeous Shadow :D I'm building up my confidence to start something like that!

They look fab Simlou - I have closed up a hole like that with just a stitch of wool in a pair of mine - it won't notice in the long run.

Really hope you find some more yarn Annabelle - or just make the other leg a bit shorter so they match!

Just finished my baby blanket for my friend so will post pics once I've blocked it - and have half a pattern for a skirtie in my head, so going to give that a try next, as it's starting to be warm enough to have bare legs now and DD only has shorties.

I love coming on here and seeing what everyone is making - it spurs me on to finish things too :wine:

They are lovely Becky.

I've been crocheting a cardi for katie today. FC I'll have it done soon, just trying to figure out the numbers for the last bit :giggle:
