I got about another 4 inches of shawl done today. Woop! Also made something I promised in trade 8 months ago. so that's a weight of my mind :wine:

So do we get to see pics of the finished project? Was it worth the wait? :giggle:

I didn't even think of that  It's a wallet made from bicycle inner tubes. I don't have pics on me (am away visiting a friend) but here's pics of a similar one I made as a christmas present.

Unfortunately the one I made on friday isn't as good, but at least it's done

I'm past the second lace repeat on my shawl now, so technically only one more stocking stitch section and a lace section to go - I might carry on for a bit though, as I seem to have lots of wool left, and I'd like a huuuuuuge shawl :giggle:

Wow, that wallet is a really good idea! Dh gets through soooo many inner tubes (he commutes on his bike), and he needs a new wallet :giggle: Is there a tute anywhere?

There are tonnes of tutes online, but I didn't find ANY of them helpful :-? I spent a couple of days messing about trying to get my sewing machine to cope with it all, and in the end I resorted to sewing with a layer of paper on top, which then is essentially perforated by the stitches, so you can pull it off (kind of) easily. There's got to be a better way, I just haven't found it!

If you find a tutorial with any instructions on how to adjust your sewing machine to feed the rubber through without it just hideously stretching, then please point me at them!!!

If you can't find anything helpful, I will write a rough tute for my blog, or somesuch...

Well, the back piece of DS's hoodie is done and have started on the front - it is age 6 so feels like it is taking forever :giggle:

Went on car journey yesterday and hate knitting with straight needles in the car, so started these cotton boardies for DS too <LLS sea deep>

I am really enjoying knitting for my little lad as is usually mostly for Naomi or other little girls we know!

Danika - I think I'd be tempted to k2tog rather that pull your knitting back. Lovely colours and I'm impressed by your soaker. I hate picking up stitches round the legs.
I finished this skirtie this morning and Ruth is wearing it today before I lanolise it tonight. It is made with PK pink giraffes and it matches perfectly.

Alex, that's lovely! I think the colourway might have been mine originally as I asked Ali to dye me some wool to match the pink giraffes fabric, and then she listed some more in the shop  It's nice to see how it crochets up. What pattern did you use? I haven't crocheted before but that doesn't look too complicated so might be a good one to start with!

I have decided not to frog the jumper too - turns out you have to pick up 3 stitches for the arms anyway so I'll just pick up 2 instead :giggle:

Thanks for requesting the colourway Danika, it is my favourite. Plus I have enough left for another soaker, or maybe some knitted shorts. I used the wigglebunz soaker pattern and made up the skirt bit. I worry about the weight of skirties sometimes, so wanted a simple a-line as it is lighter.

Citrus - just thinking about the number of stitches per row on that shawl gives me a fright. Love the wallets too.

Apart from a few flowers this is the first thing I have crocheted for about 20 years! It was much more satisfying than knitting too.

I refuse to count the stitches, not least because I might then find out that there aren't the same number on each side :giggle: I only have 14 rows of the pattern left to go, but lots of wool left, so I'm tempted to add another pattern repeat - but will I have the patience???

I absolutely love the skirtie. I bet she's delighted :wine:

Sportyminx - I knit everything on circular needles now as I prefer the addi turbos so much. I'll bet Bradley is pleased that he is getting something made for him.
(Sorry I don't know your names  and I'm not ignoring the other lovely stuff, I've reached the end of the history I can see)

That is fab - well done Alex <I'm Sarah btw just so you know :giggle: > Crocheting is satisfying I agree :giggle: gorgeous colours! oh, and yes, Bradley is thrilled I am knitting for him, but he is only 4 so he knows I am making something for him and proudly tells everyone but I am keeping it a secret what it is :giggle: bless him!

Good news Danika! :wine:
