I had a spare stitch after Round 1:[ YO, K3, Slip 1, K2tog, pass slipped stitch over, K3, YO, K1]Repeat to end ... so for the knit 1 when i came round to the end marker I had k2tog all was fine until I had to repeat row1 on the repeating of rows 1-8 so again on row 1 I had to k2tog

Does this make any sense? :giggle:

How do you end up with an extra stitch hun? You are making 2 stitches & losing 2 so you should be even. Are you passing the slipped stitch over & dropping it off the needle? That is the only place I can imagine you going wrong.

Wow Shadow love the colourway of your hoodie!

Here is my Sleuthing Hoodie so far. I have now finished the body and have started the first sleeve. I'm using Luscious Little Somethings BFL Aran in Breeze colourway. I love how it's knitting up. :D

I really want to knit a Ridinghood too though. :(

Where are you losing the second stitch? The only stitch I can see you loosing is the k2together

You know I actually have no idea! I'm not losing a stitch on that row I gained one on both of my Row 1s :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho:

it's so very odd as I had the correct amount of stitches for rows 2-8 after doing the k2tog at the end! I've confused myself no end here ... I'd go back and start the lace again but it's cast off now and it piddled me off doing it in the first place :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

there are lots of laughs here as if I don't laugh I'm going to cry

You shouldn't be passing the stitch back Michelle. It's passing it over, lifting it with the right needle over the stitch on the needle in front of it & dropping it.

Ok I haven't a clue what that means  is that dropping it down round the stitch that is on the left of the slipped stitch on the right needle? That would make sense

Ok, I'm getting on well with my first soaker so I'm going to attempt this later on in the year - I want to order some yarn though and I still don't know how much I should get

I'm going to do it in DK as I think aran will be too heavy and I want her to get lots of wear out of it - I'll most likely do size 18-24 mths with a bit of extra length as DD is 12 mths in September, on the 98th% for height, and already wearing 12-18mth clothes at 9 months.

If I buy 300g of DK yarn will that be enough, or do I not need as much weight for DK (I'm assuming you get more length per gram out of DK yarn, but you also need more stitches than with aran?). I have 300g of LLS aran in the drawer to do something with which I could use for this if it would be enough, but if not then I'm going to get some DK dyed up.

I am useless at working out how to convert length to weight for wool

Please can someone who is already knitting this tell me how much wool they have got and what size it's for - I know there are a couple of other people who have asked this on the thread too.

Thanks!
