yep :) Water and food colouring mixed with vinegar, then put wrap into that. Some of the colour will go into the wrap straight away, but as it heats more will until the water is clear.

I'm not sure about microwaving with poppers though :? I think I'd be more inclined to steam it to fix - I do it in a bowl sat over a saucepan with steamer insert.

Thanks - its applix / hook and loop so I'll risk in the microwave (I'm sure Shevi did hers green years ago!)

Just another quicky is there a difference between natural food colouring and the old style fake stuff (not that I know what version of blue I have in the cupboard!)

not sure about the natural stuff. I've never seen a natural blue one though.

checked it's not natural blue. Can't think of any natural blue things you could get colour from!

I have some procion dye and i'm going to dye some wool. I have got vinegar today but i'm not sure what to do.
Do I mix the dye with vingar and water then paint it on, or do i soak the wool in the vinegar then paint on the dye mixed with water?

Thank you in advance.

Obviously it varies, but roughly how much food colouring would you think I would need to dye 100g of merino?

I just want one solid colour, but I only have half a small bottle of the colour I want to use, so don't know whether to bother now, or just to wait until I buy more.

That should be enough. Think I only use a quarter of a bottle, if that.
