Wool soaker/wraps/longies/shorties patterns

Postby clothmama » Sun Jan 28, 2007 2:44 pm

Hi I thought it might be a good idea to have a seperate post that we can put links to any free wool patterns that we come across on the internet. Here's a couple of longie ones
http://www.tinybirdsorganics.com/organicwool/woolpants.html link no longer works

Feedback on any of them would be a great help to others as well!

The doodlepants pattern is very good. The longies look great and you can adjust it for any size. With a bit of thought you could also use a differnt type of wool (pattern uses aran).

I've not tried the Tiny Birds longies pattern but the pants are good (although mine were too small for night nappy)

I've got lots of other free patterns - is it OK to post links?

Edited November 2014 - sadly none of these links work anymore. If anyone knows of any please let me know!

BUM SWEATERS / BOTTY JUMPERS / WOOL WRAPS MADE FROM OLD JUMPERS  :!:

My mil made me one of these out of a charity shop jumper and it works really well even if it does look slightly strange!!!

Here's one for longies made from a jumper, I never got mil to use this one as I didn't like the seam at the top of the legs, she made some without this, just need to find the pattern!!

I think this is the one she made my trousers out of and I really like them, Louis wears them as pj's most nights and they are very warm and never leak (I think she felted teh jumper first or it may have already been felted (shrunk is what I really mean, you know how wool goes when it goes in a hot wash!!))

If anyone wants pics of any of mine just ask!

Both my mum and I have made the tiny birds longies and soakers. I think looking at the whole pattern can be overwhelming but once you start it isn't hard at all :D . I've found they both have a lot of stretch in the waistband and the rise is quite high (although Lil is quite small). The longies are also really long so I had to play with the pattern to make it just the right length for Lily :D .
