Which slow cooker / crock pot?

Postby aimeet » Thu May 24, 2012 2:56 pm

I know lots of people here have one, I looked on amazon and they range from very cheap to really expensive Can anyone reccommend one? There are 4 of us (will be when Evie starts solids) and we eat quite large portions as vegans so how big do we go?
I promise it wasn't the fudgey cake that persuaded me to buy one (ahem) :giggle:

We have a 4.5l (capacity) Morphy Richards which does the 5 of us well with enough to put in the freezer for dh for work too.

Argos Cookworks.. honestly, its been like a trooper... I use mine quite a bit in the winter months and i had gone through 2 (one glass lid spontaneously broke and the other just stopped working - both morphy richards) my grandma seemed to have the same little white cooksworks one forever...

I bought this one http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... 418592.htm

Which tbh is bigger than we 3 need day to day but its great for big veggie curry type things.

They do a smaller one too here: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... COOKER.htm

Honestly, i've had it 6+yrs now at least and its been great.

The only thing it doesnt have is a delay timer but i've never needed that as i used to work from home and then became a SAHM so always around at some point to start it when it needs doing.
