Who had the Chilli recipe using baked beans?

Postby 123princesssammie » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:36 pm

Have searched and searched and can't find it but ages ago someone posted a really simple chilli con carne recipe that goes in the slow cooker but it used a tin of baked beans instead of kidney beans?

Has anyone got it please? X

I just chuck in the bb's instead of the kidney beans. So i would brown off the mince with onion and garlic, put in slow cooker with tin tomatoes, dried or fresh chilies and other herbs if you want also a stock cube like oxo if you want and then add the beans x

You can always just use a chili mix if you want but I like to get a bit over zealous with the dried chili's lol

I always use both and I tend to use the tomatoes with the chilli in I find it's the perfect balance for the children.

@Kirstyh if you add a bit of cocoa powder (no more than a desert spoon per pack of mince) to it as well it helps to take away that harsh, back of the throat chilli, but still leaves you with the spice.
