Quick help- baking salmon

Postby ponygirl » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:24 am

I have just picked up 2 salmon fillets from Morrisons that must be eaten today, I have never cooked salmon before! How should I cook it and how will I know when its done?

I grill it with a little olive oil and lemon and maybe some thyme., Both sides until its matt pink all the way through, not the shiny sort of pink that it is when raw. Serve (and freeze in portions) with mash!

Or rub some butter or oil on foil, some lemon slices and herbs (both optional) wrap the fillets like a parcel and bake for 15 to 20 mins or so. Hard to overcook as it steams

Serve with veggies and potatoes yum

We're having salmon tonight too. I'm doing it marinated in soy sauce with honey, root ginger and chilli, then pan fried and served with stirfry veg on a bed of mash. Just as soon as I motivate myself....

Salmon works really well chopped up in a stirfry too.
