Liquidiser help - what can I do with it?

Postby clothmama » Thu Jan 17, 2013 12:15 am

As you may have seen on chat I purchased a liquidiser a la Jamie Oliver in his 15 minute meals yesterday:

Image

I came home and made a bannana smoothie for dh and I (2x bannanas, skim milk, greek yogurt and cinnamon), it was gorgeous and we didn’t even bother with dinner as it was so filling (maybe this is my weight loss secret to be!)!

On the last Jamies 15 minute meals he made a gorgeous looking curry sauce by just bunging everything (onion, herbs, spices, ginger, chilli etc) whizzing it up and then cooking it and it was all so quick and easy (looking :hohoho: ).

Does anyone else use one of these regularly and if so what do you do with it? Has anyone seen any good recipes or ideas? I dont' want to end up either not using it (I promised DH that it would get used and not just sit on the limited space bench gathering dust :lookround: ) or only use it for milkshakes :giggle:

Thanks in advance for any ideas

Oooh you know what you should use Tory in your milkshakes. Not sure if you've seen it but I know Woolies sell it. Vanilla bean paste. Just a tiny dot of that makes a banana milkshake ZING!

As for the machine, soups, cocktails with crushed ice?

Curry pastes, as you've already mentioned

We made these as part of a Christmas gift for my brother. They freeze well in portions too!

Soup - butternut squash is the favourite here.

The other thing I use mine for a lot is for tomato sauce - I fry onion/ celery/ garlic and then either blend that before adding passata or cook the sauce first then whizz it up. Means it's ultra smooth and great for cooking meatballs in
