Potatoe ricers?

Postby Shaunie » Tue Jan 22, 2013 10:12 pm

Are they worth it? I hate mashing potatoes and they are never lump free but I wonder if a ricer would be any good? any recommendations if so?

I have on and use it if my mash is lumpy, and I have no time. Definitely gets the lumps out but I find it a faff to use.

I did wonder if they would be a faff. I have visions of the boys waiting for their tea while I place individual hot potatoes into a ricer................... :giggle:

We use ours all the time, I despise mashing potatoes with a masher now. I don't find it a faff at all.

This is ours. I agree with Mareth, hate using the masher now.

I think ours was just from tk maxx, either that or Lidl. I've head good reviews of the ikea one too.

We have one and I love it. We had one like Vikis but I bent it but then again I have a habit of ricing baked potatoes - this is a great trick for kids meals, you do a baked spud in the microwave and then cut it in half, put it through the ricer cut side down, you don't even need to peel it. Great for speedy small portions of mash. And if you boil your potatoes the old fashioned way it honestly doesn't take that long to rice them. Ours has a metal mesh insert that all comes out easily for washing
