Fingers crossed!

We went cold turkey with Jasmine at 2 when the dentist said it was starting to push her front teeth forward - I told her what he said and she was absolutely fine and never asked for it again.

We took Graces away when she was 2 and she was fine, never bothered at all and it turned out the poor love had slapped cheek at the time x

Yay, hope it continues to go well. Jonah gave his to Santa when he had just turned 3 with no problems at all. isaac was closer to 3.5 at Christmas when he left them under the tree for Santa to take to the baby reindeer and he has been fine too! I was more surprised that Isaac was fine though because he was more reliant on it during the night but never an issue :D

We want to do this before Peanut arrives, we have raised the idea odf the dummy fairy a few times, but she's not at all keen!!!

I think we'll make a big thing about writing the dummy fairy a letter and requesting a specific present (she wants a yo-yo!) and then go for it. I'm rather nervous though, but she does have her bears and things so I'm hoping they will work as a dummy substitute.

I do hope Peanut doesn't need one though, because that will make it soooo much worse for her!

Fingers crossed it goes well.

The dummy fairy (although James renamed it the Dragon Fairy) came to visit here!
We thought we were going to have a huge battle on our hands, so started to plant the idea if the dummy fairy.

Plan was the dummy/ dragon fairy was coming to visit to give the dummies to the babies and it return would leave a dragon behind for James!

So on a Sunday before a bank holiday we started to plant the idea - only for him to decide all on his own at bedtime " not need dummy, dragon fairy come tonight!"
And went to bed without it!
And at 8pm on a Sunday me & DH are thinking Eeek! Where do we get a dragon from at this time?
The first thing he said when he woke up was "dragon fairy not come" and lots of sobbing :'(
A quick improvisation with DH calling me on my mobile pretending to be the dragon fairy and explaining that he wanted James to choose his own dragon from the dragon shop - and calm was restored!
We've not looked back!

Hope it goes as smoothly for you

going quite well. we are now dummy free for 3 nights , with a small pressie in the morning :yahoo: :yahoo: he has taken longer to settle but down from 2 hours the first night to about half an hour last night, only thing is as soon as he is awake is is up looking for the pressie, usually he would look for dummy and go back to sleep- so some early mornings and he is now v tierd and grummpy  but overall i thought we would have a really battle and seems to be working well- we have 2 more pressie left then he knows thats them done , not sure if we will have a battle then or not.
