on a train journey on his own, i saw him off at the station and its a 1 hr journey to London, he was met on the platform at Liverpool St and is off to a film shoot tonight.
Then tomorrow he is off to Ireland to a family funeral with DH, he's not coming home until Monday.
The house is so quiet without him here  miss him already, and on Sunday DH and Oscar are visiting a boys only boarding school (Clongowes Wood College) with the idea to start in September, not sure how i feel about this, he is mega excited , its a huge rubgy school and very prestigious, im kind of hoping he doesnt like it or get offered a place.......... but if he does i would let him go with my blessing.
All of DH's family live within 10 miles of the school so he would spend all of Sunday with them and come home every 3 weeks for the weekend and every school holiday too.
Very mixed feelings :-?
Its such a big weekend for him, first journey on his own, first funeral and looking to board too.
My little boy is growing up too fast.

UPDATE
Sunday- Oscar had his interview this morning, DH was there and he said it was a proper one hour grilling, not tough but thorough, the priest wanted his last 2 years school reports and anything else to support the application, warts and all.
DH said Oscar did his best and held his own , we are still waiting to find out, 3 boys for 2 places arghhhhh. :loopy:
Think im going nuts just waiting now. :waiting:
He is in :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: starts in 4 wks time :loopy: :loopy:
So Oscar to going to Clongowes Wood College in Ireland, bless him ,boys only :giggle:

 I completely understand the mixed feelings, I can't imagine being in this situation in years to come. DH keeps telling me that they boys have to grow up and do their own thing and I always say that I will follow them to uni should they decide to go

I'm sure he's a mature young man, and where-ever he decides to study, he will be with a wonderful family x

 I went to boarding school when I was 11. I really wanted to go, but had no idea how hard it was on my parents until years later when Mum admitted she pulled into a layby and cried after dropping me off on my first day. Still makes me well up thinking of her so sad :-(

Thanks ladies for the support and kind words
Feeling a bit sad tonight thinking about what may be, he is a day boy ATM at a local prep school and does board one night a week and is good friends with the boarders there so does have an insight into what it all entails.
I'll just have to see what the weekend brings and take it from there :(

It's weird I went to boarding school and loved it (most of the time!) but can't imagine sending Josh in 18 months time (although some days would be happy to send him now!!). If we had the money I think I'd consider it as the benefits I got were so enormous and I still have wonderful friends from there til this day. In fact we have our 20 year reunion next year   :yahoo: :yahoo:

Is there not a similarly good school close to home where he could be a day bug?

Big hugs with whatever you decide. Let us know what he thought of it
