If we had the money I think I'd consider it as the benefits I got were so enormous and I still have wonderful friends from there til this day. In fact we have our 20 year reunion next year   :yahoo: :yahoo:

Is there not a similarly good school close to home where he could be a day bug?

Big hugs with whatever you decide. Let us know what he thought of it

Oscar has place as a day boy at a very good private college locally, but this opportunity has just come up at the last minute. The college in Ireland is full but they made a couple of places available for the children of Irish living abroad so they can be educated in Ireland, something that has always meant a lot to DH, infact he talks about moving back quite often (not in front of the kids though, i wouldnt want to unsettle them)
This college is very well know in Ireland, James Joyce, loads of the national Irish rugby squad and many government ministers went there, so there is a feeling that if he like its and gets an offer, he should really grab it with both hands.
We will see

:( ooh how sad. I can't imagine Martha going away to board. It's not something that anyone I know well has done and the odd person I know who did board didn't enjoy it. I can see that it would have been a positive thing for me though, I was often bored and isolated as a teenager.

I think I know the school you mean, it is a very famous rugby school.

DH was boarded at a school in Ireland (different school), whilst his parents lived in Saudi where his dad was working. He loved it.

He reckons that school is a very good one, he knew a few people that went there, it's one of the best rugby schools on the country, and would provide an excellent education, but is incredibly expensive :giggle:

Actually the fees are cheaper than to be a day boy at an English school, which we are doing already.
DS is rugby mad, he wants to wear his Leinster rugby shirt for the interview :giggle: he has it packed but i have bought a smart outfit for when he sees sense :waiting:

Wow what an opportunity hun! I can't imagine sending my Oliver to board but if it was something he wanted I would put my feelings aside and let him :)

That said with hubby being in the Military it may be something we have to consider in the future. Looking forward to hearing how he gets on at the interview x

Good luck, if he could hold his own sounds like he did quite well.
