I may ask the GP if he will prescribe EyeQ next time Toby needs an appt for something, but I bet he won't be willing to prescribe it. To be honest the amount DH and I both pay in tax means that whilst I wouldn't waste a Dr's time to get prescriptions for paracetamol, teething gel and ibuprofen for the boys I will sometimes go to the chemist and get it on 'care at the chemist'. If I am too disorganised and do run out then I just buy it.

Right Q a major parenting guilt trip!
Dh spoke to the head pharmacist today and she said she has noted a link to capsule tablets causing constipation so poor Kieran has had his bowel issues exaggerated by us as we have had him taking Eye Q since he was about 5, not continually but more often than not :( So it's liquid eye q from now on which he isn't too happy about as it tastes vile but we have said that we will mix it into chocolate milk or if we can juice.
We didn't give him the tablets over the weekend and we had 3 poo's, I don't imagine for one minute that he has been totally cleared out but it is a start, I was sitting with him while he was on the loo (helping him breath through it as it was so patient) DH came up just as said motion was on it's way out (sorry way tmi) and said "dear God I've seen smaller ships" :giggle:

Please don't feel guilty, we can only do our best. But hopefully now you've discovered a link hopefully things will become a bit easier, in every sense!

Yikes - glad he can still have the EyeQ though - but if there's a link like that it should be mentioned clearly somewhere surely!
You weren't to know

WSS!

Funnily enough though I've just started Isabelle on them on the high dose for the first week and she was quite erm pellety this morning so I'll be making sure she has extra fruit and fluids until I've finished the capsules with her and stick to the smooth stuff after that... Thanks :)
