Brilliant - from a definite only one lesson to a reluctant three lessons sounds good to me :D .

Well Done in persauding him! :wine:
I think it's such an important & potentially life saving skill to learn, we insisited that Jack went when he was younger, he liked the idea initially but became reluctant when he realised he couldn't just mess around, but we said he had to go for the whole of the 1st term at the very least, by the end he was loving it & wanted to go back.
He'll enjoy himself on holiday so much more if he can swim, they love that bit of independance.

Plus he'll get so much more out of the school lessons if he's not in the bottom/non-swimmers group. Jack was the 1st year they went & as well as the general non-swimmers he was with the naughty ones & some children with special needs so he got very little attention or swimming instruction at all as all the attention was going on those who needed it more. Between that year & the next lot we sent him to swimming lessons and so when he went back he went into the middle group & quickly moved to the top group & was earning badges left right & centre, he felt so proud that he could then collect these in Friday assembly :D he says himself he wouldn't have got more than one if he'd stayed in the bottom group.

He still doesnt want to go, but he knows he has to try, and deep down I know he will get into it once his confidence picks up and I'm sure DS2 will spur him on!

We've also agreed that he can ride his bike there..which swung it I think :giggle:

Skilful negotiating by you there! At least three lessons gives him the chance to really see if he likes it. :giggle: at the bike.

We just booked lessons for DS - his first one is on Friday and tonight he asked me in a worried little voice if I thought he'd enjoy it. He's such a little worrier - apparently he thought it might be like karate where they shout at you alot (he went for 1 class at the invite of a friend and it's really not his style). So lots of reassuring and he went to sleep happy - just fc the teacher is nice now I've built it up!

When Molly started swimming I took her 10 times before she would come away from screaming at the side of the pool! Now she can swim on her own using a float! I'm glad I persisted with her. I'm sure once he goes a few times he will love it again.

Nanny sweetened the blow yesterday with a promise of cinema and lunch in town after the swimming lesson :hohoho: and weve also spoken to him about it ALOT!

Last night he actually said hed like to go but was nervous. When he got there, he turned to DH and said actually daddy i think i may like it here :wine: :wine: :wine:

He has very little convidence in the water but tried everything and did what the instructor said
  Also theres only two other girls in the class, so they had two instructors in the water with DS1&2 plus the two girls so they had alot of attention - and the best thing? The huge smile on their faces as they ran up to the car and how they cant wait until next time :wine: :wine: :wine:
