This school lark is tough.

Just as Martha starts to go to school in the morning without protesting we had a little setback.

I went out tonight leaving her with the babysitter (Emily from next door who she knows and loves), Emily is to bath her and put her to bed. Normally no probelm, she can't wait to see the back of me.

Tonight, no tears but she says "I don't want mummy to go", I went anyway (obviously), but then when I get back, Emily says that Martha was ok but she kept saying "I miss Mummy"

 :(

DS still does this on occasion, but I kind of think it's important for them to see you go and come back iyswim.

And it almost sounds as though she was just letting Emily know how she felt? - rather than actually being distressed.

Not very comfortable for you though - I hate it when they do that - it means I spend half my time away thinking about them

just some   really - it will get better.

My dd does this too. Tonight we dropped Roo off with my mum before taking ds1 to karate and 20secs after we left she kept saying she missed him. She tells me every day after school she misses me too :(
