Baby Beehinds

Postby Annette » Tue May 08, 2007 7:52 pm

I have become a little disappointed with my Huggles lately as Charlotte keeps getting red marks on her legs from them and sometimes has a rash in the morning - also dh has been commenting on them and wanting to use disps overnight. So I decided to try a Baby Beehind as Steph had brought one to the nappucino and people had said how absorbent they are (oh and any excuse to go nappy shopping).

Now, it worked fine last night but does anyone find them a little small? I found it quite low in the rise and a squeeze around her thighs so that it is a little gapey at the front where I can't tighten it enough iyswim. I know Charlotte has chunky thighs (takes after her Mum :D ) but in every other way is pretty average. Do other people think they will last to potty training?

I can't praise the baby beehinds bamboo enough :D :D . They are soooo fantastic for us, never had a leak and are nice and slim for under lily's pj's. Lily is quite skinny though (have just hit 9kg at 14.5 months old) so we still have heaps of growing room with the snaps. We will definetly make it till potty training

Are the minki's any good for overnight or maybe the stuffi's? They look like they both have a lot more room and are really absorbant.

We love the bbb as well, they fit Phebie really well and she 8.4kgs at 9 months, not sure if they'll still fit when shes about 2 though.

 I'm quite suprised you are finding them small, I think the rise is really high, if you measure it up against a tots for example its quite a bit bigger. how wierd is that, maybe they vary a bit or something. Louis is about the same size as Charlotte I think and he is on the smallest settings and has chunky little thighs. I@d say they'll definately go to potty training on Louis. Don't forget they don't grow that much in the next year or so. Louis has now been 10kg for 3 months.

What colour did you get? :D

Matthew has quite a chubby belly and thighs but they fit him really well - he's only 6 months though..
Seem to have plenty of growing room atm so hopefully they'll last!

I realised after buying some new coloured ones that I'd completely shrunk my old one in the tumble dryer :( It's about an inch shorter in the rise than my new ones..

Thats interesting Joanne, I had wondered why they say not to tumble dry them!! Glad I've never done it!! I do often do the inserts though! I was even going to email then to ask as there is obviously no nippa issues!!

My inserts for it have shrunk too :(
The tumble dryer was on a low heat but I'm not tumbling my new ones at all.

Well, I feel a little silly but I have worked out why I was finding them a squeeze - because the booster poppers at the front when I laid her on the nappy I couldn't stretch the elastic fully as the booster was stuck under her bum iyswim

So now I know to pull the booster through a bit and they are a better fit. Have to say, I like it alot without the boosters in the day so can't decide whether to try something else at night.

But while on the subject - I know this has been mentioned before but how long do they take to dry? I washed my nappies on Monday night and hung them all up before going to bed. All the rest I put away this morning but the BB still feel slightly damp around the elastic until this evening. It's amazing.

Yep they do take FOREVER to dry!!

Have to say if you're after a replacement for huggles then I'd go for a bambeasy (especially nippa fastening) - again very slow drying, and another white nappy... BUT they're fantastic!
